Who We Are
Higher Ed Resources for Open Education - Spanish Edition is an organization that brings together Spanish language educators to create, develop, and share high quality educational resources. Our mission is to promote the teaching and learning of Spanish in higher educational contexts, using materials that are flexible, customizable, easily adaptable to the particular contexts, and that add zero cost to students’ educational goals.

We strive to enhance professional development by creating opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge and build capacity among instructors
RESEARCH
We promote and develop research as means to advance the field of O.E.R. and have further impact in contexts and levels
ADVOCATE
We foster equity, diversity and inclusion both, in materials creation and in welcoming diverse backgrounds, experiences, and approaches to language learning and teaching
SHARE
We aim to extend access to education while also giving instructors and students agency over their language instruction
What We Do
We publish high-quality open licensed resources specifically created for teaching and learning Spanish in higher education. The resources we create are varied, including course textbooks, supplementary materials, and language projects. We also have a research team dedicated to inform our practices while advancing the field of OER.
